Here's the best of Ventura Lambrate area
28/4/2012 | Milano. No doubt Ventura Lambrate set itself as the
most experimental and artistic area of FuoriSalone. The several exhibitions, among their ups and
downs, gave us some really interesting ideas. The exhibits were located in sheds and building with
lots of floors, within a more “fairground” style and less agitated than Zona
Tortona.
The space dedicated to IKEA was
really interesting. It showed the new collection
PS 2012, a
colorful and soft range of products, with references to vintage but always keeping the traditional
linearity of the Swedish company. We could breathe the warm and friendly atmosphere of IKEA shopping
centers.
The
Royal College of Art brought other
interesting concepts, such as “E Lumnia”, a system of LED enlightened by the flow of water, or
“Lasso”, sa pair of felt shoes fully developable in 2D.
In general, there were many other
interesting products as result of matter experiments: for example “Gravity stool” by
Jolan van der Wiel, a stool built semi-randomly by the magnetic
attractin of a metal plastic later solidified. If we talk about conceptual, we introduce other
products, such as the comfortable
two-legged stools made by
the design school in Bolzano, or the lamp controlled by a structure of paper and wood
clamps.
In Zona Lambrate there also were “open doors” of the Polytechnic School, which
showcased some of its interesting objects such as the table Beam, winner of the contest Cristalplant
for MDF Italy.
In Ventura-Lambrate, as it was for Zona Tortona, we found the interesting
Nendo’s objects: he really was
the protagonist of this year
FuoriSalone.
In general, we saw matter experiments and combination of various
materials, however always keeping a natural style. Sometimes there also were some purely artistic
and provocative objects. In one sentence, Ventura-Lambrate was “
daring to innovate and experimenting to attract”.
