SID and PST Galileo show Padua to the world

French University and Chinese investors visited PST Galileo

PADOVA. The visits of foreign institutes and representatives continue at Scuola Italiana Design and Parco Scientifico e Tecnologico Galileo in Padua. Two in particular took place during this spring ending.

Prof. Kamel Ben Youssef brought their Marketing Strategies students from Université Paris Ouést to Italy: the French students visited Scuola Italiana Design and MaTech aiming to deepen their knowledge about design and its management. The visit was part of the trip made by the students around Veneto too see its history, culture and industrial reality.
The relationship between us and the Parisian University has begun a few months ago when Eva Tenan (MaTech) and Alessandro Barison (SID graduate) spoke at 6th day of Brand Design in Paris, and could continue in the future.

A collaboration agreement has been signed between the Chinese Ningbo Industrial Group (working on the creation of the Ningbo Italian Green Technology Park) and PST Galileo, for an exchange of information and experiences aimed at the development of the respective activities in the technical-scientific and business fields. The signing has been made on Friday, May 31 during the official visit of the Chinese group, between Chen Kewen, president of Ningbo, and Giuseppe Stellin, president of PST Galileo. Stellin about the agreement said: «It’s an important opportunity for the development of PST Galileo and local business services, which Galileo wants to improve within their activities of international promotion of the innovation.»

SID among the guests of Galileo Innovactors' Festival

A meeting on Sat 22 to talk about innovation, design, materials

PADOVA. On Saturday, June 22, from 11.00 the meeting “Design and New Materials: Innovation for Manufacturing Industry” is taking place at Sala Anziani, Palazzo Moroni, Padua.

The conference, organized by PST Galileo, is one of the events of Galileo Innovactors’ Festival, scheduled in Padua from June 20 to 22, 2013.

During the meeting, PST Galileo is showing several case histories developed by its departments Scuola Italiana Design and MaTech, in collaboration with companies from different fields.

The speakers will be Fabio Meneghetti, project manager at MaTech, and Andrea Busato, marketing and design strategist at Scuola Italiana Design. The meeting will be introduced by Massimo Malaguti, general manager of Parco Scientifico e Tecnologico Galileo.

16th SID Rovinj Workshop, a record edition

3 companies, more than 90 participants and the new island Katarina

PADOVA. A one-week immersion into design and creativity: from Saturday 8 to 15 June, Scuola Italiana Design hosted 16th SID Rovinj Workshop, a unique in its kind creativity lab. The activities took place within an environment which is totally different from everyday working one: we mean Rovinj, the Croatian city overlooking the Adriatic Sea.

VIDEO-LOGBOOK:

For the first year the location was the island Katarina, in front of the city, that turn into a source of creativity.
The educational activities took place seven hours a day up to Friday 14th, based on the proven methods on creative design taught by Scuola Italiana Design.

This was a record edition regarding the number of participants - more than 90. This was also the first workshop with such a high European participation, in particular with students of design coming from the Academy of Vilnius, section of the University of Kaunas (Lithuania), and from the Kielce Technology Park (Poland).

Another record is the number of client companies of the design themes, which were three for the first time in 16 years. They are all leading companies in their respective areas: Ferplast (pet supplies), Milldue (high-end bathroom furniture) and Roncato (luggage, bags and accessories).
